The University of Nicosia

  • The University of Nicosia is the largest English-language research university in Southern Europe, with particular strengths in international relations, accounting and finance, and medical sciences.
  • The University is the largest university or tertiary institution of any kind in Cyprus
  • The University enrolls about 5,000 students, of which approximately 600 are international students, 60 are ERASMUS exchange students and 70-80 are North American study abroad students.  About 4,000 additional students attend its medical school, online programs, affiliated colleges and professional training groups
  • The University is one of the three largest research organizations in Cyprus and organizes its research through 15 specialized research institutes. 
  • The University is a member of the European University Association, holds an Erasmus University Charter and is one of only a handful of EU universities to be granted the EU Diploma Supplement and ECTS label.
  • It has held the first UNESCO Chair in Cyprus since 2005 (for cultural diversity), is the current holder of the Jean Monnet Chair in “Diplomacy & Politics of European Integration,” and publishes the only academic journal in Cyprus.   It holds the Dialogue Chair in Middle Eastern Studies (International Relations) and the PricewaterhouseCoopers Chair in Accounting
